It’s Valentine’s Day and my original idea is a bit too complex and my not be interpreted well…” is one of the many thoughts that went through my mind on the drive to the store to get the Red Stripe Light Beer. Then suddenly I thought “Silhouette!” … How do you do that with two bottles though? Well! I didn’t know but I wanted to give it a try.

Using two triangular make-up sponges I propped the bottles up on the kitchen counter in-front of my umbrella softbox – in it was a YN 460II at 1/8th power. I started snapping at 1/200th of sec at f/4.5, ISO 100. Then in Lightroom I bumped up the contrast and removed two “not so white” areas to produce the final image.

* I thought the beers leaning on each other would show more relation than them standing upright, side by side.
